KARACHI: The country’s leading telecom and ICT services provider, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), in partnership with Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), has successfully completed a large-scale clean drinking water initiative, providing sustainable access to safe and healthy potable water to more than 150,000 people across the water-stressed regions of South Punjab and Sindh.
The initiative addresses one of the most pressing challenges faced by communities whose water sources were severely damaged or contaminated during the devastating floods of 2024. The project delivers a comprehensive portfolio of climate-resilient water solutions, including Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants, rainwater harvesting systems, bio-sand filters, hand pumps and tube-wells to ensure long-term access to safe drinking water in some of Pakistan’s most vulnerable areas.
The initiative builds on the success of PTCL’s first phase of clean water interventions in Thar, which benefited over 15,000 people. Encouraged by the positive impact of the initial project, the company expanded its efforts with more advanced and diversified water solutions to serve communities across a wider geographical footprint.
