HANOI: Robusta coffee prices in Vietnam edged up this week, tracking gains in global markets, while traders began offering prices for beans from the new crop that will start arriving in November, traders said on Thursday.
Farmers in the Central Highlands, Vietnam’s coffee belt, sold beans at 98,300 dong to 99,000 dong per kg (USD3.75 to USD3.78), up from last week’s 96,000 dong to 96,500 dong range.
November robusta coffee futures settled up USD31, or 1percent, at USD3,884 per metric ton on Wednesday, extending gains for a fifth consecutive trading session.
Vietnam’s 2026/27 crop season officially begins in October, although beans from the new harvest are not expected to reach the market until November. “Some traders have started offering contracts for beans from the new season, but farmgate prices vary widely.
