The government has reduced petrol prices by Rs3.19 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs1.50 per litre, effective August 7, as part of its petroleum pricing mechanism.

The government decreased the price of petrol by Rs3.19 per litre while cutting the high-speed diesel (HSD) price by Rs1.50 per litre, effective from Friday, August 7.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Thursday revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.
The price of Motor Spirit (petrol) was decreased by Rs3.19 per litre, taking it from Rs333.01 to Rs329.82 per litre.
The price of HSD went down by Rs1.50 per litre, from Rs383.86 to Rs382.36 per litre.
The new prices will remain in effect until tomorrow, in line with the government’s ongoing practice of adjusting fuel prices based on international oil markets and other cost factors.
In the previous review on Wednesday, the government increased the price of petrol by Rs4.45 per litre while cutting HSD price by Rs2 per litre.
