LAHORE: The Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited (FCEPL), operating through the Pakistan-Netherlands Dairy Development Centre (PNDDC), to enhance skills development and capacity building in Punjab’s dairy and agriculture sectors.

The agreement was signed by PSDF Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Khan and FrieslandCampina Director Dairy Development for the Middle East, Pakistan and Africa Syed Saud Ahmad Pasha in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.

PSDF Head of Digital and Green Programmes Akbar Hussain and FrieslandCampina Programme Manager Humera Iqbal were also present on the occasion.

Under the partnership, the two organisations will jointly develop and implement demand-driven training programmes focusing on green and climate-smart agriculture, livestock management and dairy sector skills.

The initiative will benefit dairy farmers, intermediaries and other stakeholders across Punjab through physical and digital learning platforms. It will also incorporate expertise from national and international dairy and agri-tech specialists to promote modern practices and global standards.

Speaking on the occasion, PSDF CEO Ahmed Khan said Pakistan’s dairy and agriculture sectors had significant growth potential, but developing a skilled workforce was essential to unlock these opportunities.

“This partnership will create pathways for Punjab’s farmers and intermediaries to thrive in a climate-resilient economy,” he said.

FrieslandCampina Director Dairy Development Saud Pasha said the company was committed to introducing Dutch dairy expertise to Pakistan’s agriculture sector.

He said the collaboration with PSDF would help bridge Dutch dairy knowledge with Pakistan’s agricultural potential and contribute to building a future-ready skilled dairy workforce.
