ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) on Friday announced an increase in the prices of petrol and High Speed Diesel (HSD) for July 25 following the latest daily price review of petroleum products.

The petrol price is up by Rs3.66 per litre, rising from Rs331.52 per litre to Rs335.18 per litre. Meanwhile, HSD is up by Rs4.80 per litre, rising from Rs378.66 to Rs383.46 per litre.

According to a statement issued by the Petroleum Division, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority revised the ex-depot prices based on the government’s updated petroleum pricing mechanism.

Since the government decision on daily review of petroleum prices, the cumulative increase is at Rs19.03 per litre for petrol and Rs29.11 per litre for HSD.

Meanwhile, the petroleum levy remains unchanged at Rs80 per litre on petrol and Rs70.82 per litre on HSD. Climate Support Levy (CSL) is maintained at Rs5 per litre. Custom Duty is set at Rs17.28 per litre on petrol and Rs15.68 per litre on HSD and Premium (including freight) is held steady at USD 10.98 per barrel for petrol and USD 5.1 per barrel for HSD.

In a related development, the All Pakistan Petrol Tankers Association announced to go one strike till addressing their demand.

The hike reflects sharp increases in the Arab Gulf Platts seven-day average. The average petrol prices in last seven days are at USD 105.75 per bbl, while HSD surged to USD 144 per barrel with an exchange rate against dollar around Rs 278.
