ISLAMABAD: Security forces killed six suspected terrorists and arrested several others, including male and female suicide bombers and a facilitator, during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the KhadKocha area of Mastung district, security sources said on Thursday.
According to security sources, the operation was launched on the basis of intelligence reports, leading to the killing of six members of the group referred to by the authorities as Fitna al Hindustan.
The sources said multiple suspects were also taken into custody during the operation, including male and female suicide bombers as well as a facilitator.
Security forces destroyed several terrorist hideouts during the operation and recovered a large cache of weapons and ammunition from the sites, the sources added.
Search and clearance operations are continuing in the area, with security forces maintaining a strong presence to ensure no militants remain in the vicinity.
According to the sources, intelligence-based operations in the KhadKocha area have been intensified in recent days following recent terrorist activities in Mastung.
The sources said security forces would continue operations until terrorism is eliminated and lasting peace and stability are restored in the region.
