ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday lauded Dr Farooq Adil’s literary and scholarly contributions, saying his work had helped deepen cultural understanding and strengthen the longstanding bonds between Pakistan and Turkiye.

Dr Adil called on the prime minister and presented his travelogue, “Shakh-e-Zareen Ke Dayen Baen” (On Either Side of the Golden Branch), which chronicles his journey through Turkiye and offers reflections on the country’s history, heritage and cultural landscape.

Appreciating the book, the prime minister said literary and cultural exchanges served as a bridge between nations by fostering greater awareness and understanding among their people.

The travelogue explores Turkiye beyond its historical landmarks, tracing the shared memories, traditions and cultural affinities that have shaped the relationship between Pakistan and Turkiye over generations.

During the meeting, Sharif also acknowledged Adil’s efforts in promoting closer people-to-people ties between the two countries.

Separately, Chairman National Rahmatul-lil-Alameen Wa Khatam an-Nabiyyin Authority Khursheed Ahmed Nadeem called on the prime minister and presented the authority’s annual report to him.

In another meeting, the president Awami National Party (ANP) Aimal Wali Khan met Prime Minister Sharif, with discussions focusing on political developments and the security situation in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
