LAHORE: Newly-appointed Director General of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Raja Mansoor Ahmad assumed the charge of his office on Wednesday. He is an officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) with extensive administrative experience.
Prior to this appointment, Raja Mansoor Ahmad served as Deputy Commissioner Pakpattan, Deputy Commissioner Nankana Sahib and Special Secretary, Healthcare & Medical Education. He has also held several key administrative positions, including Director General Public Relations, Director General Mines & Minerals, Director General Parks & Horticulture Authority (PHA) besides some other important assignments.
DG PFA Raja Mansoor Ahmad while assuming charge said strict implementation of food safety laws across Punjab will be ensured under a zero-tolerance policy. He said strong enforcement actions will be taken against those involved in food fraud, adulteration and the sale of substandard food.
He said special emphasis will be placed on the adoption of modern technology and human resource development to further enhance the authority’s performance and efficiency. He stated that effective engagement and coordination will be strengthened with food business operators, food industry and the public.
Raja Mansoor Ahmad further stated that, in line with the vision of the Honorable Chief Minister Punjab, every possible effort and available resource will be utilized to eliminate food safety threats across the province.
