Dar calls for ‘restraint’ in call with Araghchi

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, on Sunday to discuss the evolving regional situation.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two leaders exchanged views on the changing developments in the region.
During the conversation, Dar urged all parties to pursue de-escalation in line with the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding reached in June 2026 and to exercise maximum restraint.

He emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only effective means to resolve disputes and ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continuing its constructive role in promoting and maintaining regional peace and stability.
The two foreign ministers also agreed to remain in close contact.
