Data Darbar’s Ghusl ceremony held: Steps taken to provide better facilities to devotees: minister
LAHORE: Punjab Housing Minister Bilal Yasin said that the Punjab government is taking practical measures to provide the best facilities to devotees and visitors at Data Darbar; security arrangements, cleanliness, and administrative affairs for pilgrims visiting have been made more effective.
He expressed these views after attending the “Ghusl” ceremony at the shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh Ali Hajveri (RA) here on Thursday. He further said that the Punjab government is paying special attention to the development, preservation, and beautification of religious and spiritual centres. Special prayers were offered for the peace, progress, prosperity, and security of the country, he added.
He stated that the teachings of Hazrat Ali Hajveri (RA) impart the values of love, brotherhood, tolerance, and service to humanity, adding that Data Darbar is a great centre of spiritual blessings, peace, and harmony in the subcontinent. The Ghusl ceremony of Data Darbar symbolises devotion, reverence, and spiritual attachment, he added.
“The teachings of the saints are a means of promoting tolerance, unity, and brotherhood in society. Introducing the younger generation to the thoughts and teachings of the Sufi saints is the need of the hour. Preserving the spiritual traditions of Data Darbar is a collective responsibility of all of us,” he said.
