Pakistan, Iran agree to strengthen road, rail links
Pakistan and Iran have agreed to enhance road and rail connectivity and activate a Joint Transport Committee to significantly boost bilateral trade and resolve transport bottlenecks.

An understanding to this effect came at a meeting between Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan and Iranian Minister for Transport Farzaneh Sadegh in Islamabad, Radio Pakistan reported on Thursday.
Abdul Aleem noted that robust land connectivity is vital to unlocking immense trade opportunities between the two countries. He assured the Iranian delegation that transport-related bottlenecks would be resolved on a priority basis.
The Iranian transport minister expressed deep gratitude for Pakistan’s positive and constructive role in facilitating the peace agreement.
