Punjab PA offers fateha for BB

LAHORE: In the 32nd session of Punjab Assembly on Tuesday fateha was offered for Banazir Bhutto.

Law Minister Sanaullah o PML-N said that his party, for supremacy of parliament, would cooperate with any party, including PPP.

He said that taking advantage of Benazir's death, those who came into power, are sucking essence of democracy for the last four years. He claimed that PML-N stood as iron wall in front of foes of democracy in the country and was committed to this cause.

He said that no decision has yet been taken regarding elements who have left PML-N ranks, adding that anybody at his will could part ways with the party.

In response to a point of order regarding pending resolution about Seraiki belt, he said that before coming in the provincial assembly the resolution needed to be passed by the national assembly. He said that to make new provinces, six amendments were needed in the constitution, while total five resolutions were presented the House, out of which three were kept pending while two, one by MPA Humaira Awais Shahid, regarding child protection issue, was passed while another resolution presented by Allaudin regarding amendments in Marriage Functions (Prohibition of Ostentatious Displays and Wasteful Expenses) Ordinance 2000 was passed, too.

In question period on Local Government and Community Development, relevant parliamentary secretary said that there were eight Food Inspectors and two Chief Food Inspectors posted in Lahore at present.

He said that trucks were not allowed in Mochi Darwaza Bagh in Lahore in morning and due to this there was no obstruction to traffic in the area due to that.

The Parliamentary Secretary stated that in Liberty Park Lahore a modern parking stand was erected on 2009-10. He added that CMH Company was taking parking fees in the area. He said that 585 cars can be parked in the area of park.

In response to a query by Khadeeja Umar, he said that there were price control committees in all districts who were checking the prices of commodities.

The House was adjourned for Wednesday.
