KARACHI: Led by Chairman Muhammad Hassan Bakhshi, delegation of the Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) met Karachi Development Authority’s (KDA) Director General Asif Jan Siddiqui on Wednesday to discuss issues facing the construction and real estate sector.
The delegation held detailed discussions with the KDA chief on matters of mutual interest and challenges being faced by ABAD members. During the meeting, the delegation presented a number of proposals and requests for resolving administrative and operational issues affecting builders and developers.
Responding to the concerns raised by ABAD team, DG-KDA directed relevant officials of the authority to take immediate and long-term measures to address the issues. He also ordered steps to further strengthen coordination and communication between KDA and ABAD to facilitate smoother resolution of matters concerning the construction industry.
“The problems highlighted by builders and developers should be resolved at the earliest possible,” Siddiqui said, reaffirming the authority’s commitment to improving public service delivery and institutional efficiency.
The KDA chief said the authority was continuing efforts to modernize its operations through the computerization and digitization of records to ensure greater transparency, efficiency, and preservation of official data.
He also highlighted ongoing anti-encroachment operations on KDA-owned lands, stating that action against illegal occupations was being carried out without discrimination. He added that measures were also underway to ensure the long-term protection of reclaimed public land.
Besides ABAD delegation, the meeting was attended by senior KDA officials including Member Finance Naveed Anwar Siddiqui, Senior Director Master Plan Shakeel Siddiqui, Additional Director Estate and Enforcement Muhammad Arif and other officers.
The engagement reflects continued efforts by regulatory authorities and industry stakeholders to improve coordination and address challenges facing Karachi’s rapidly expanding construction and housing sector.
