Arabica coffee prices ease, cocoa edges higher

LONDON: Arabica coffee futures on ICE fell slightly on Tuesday as the focus remained on the harvest outlook in top producer Brazil, while cocoa prices edged higher.

COFFEE: Arabica coffee fell 0.3 percent to USD2.4515 per lb at 1353 GMT, slipping back down towards a 1-1/2-year low of USD2.4330 set on Friday.

Dealers said rains in Brazil may slow the pace of harvesting this week, although the world’s top grower is still expecting a near-record crop.

Robusta coffee fell 0.8 percent to USD3,306 a metric ton.

COCOA: London cocoa gained 0.4 percent to £2,945 per ton.

Dealers said the market had derived support from expectations that an El Nino weather event could curb production in West Africa during the 2026/27 season.
