ISLAMABAD: Significant progress has been made on the Sapphire Soda Ash Production Project with the facilitation of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), marking a major development for the country’s chemicals and manufacturing sector.

Under the initiative, 2.7 cusecs of water have been allotted from Mohajir Canal in Khushab, ensuring the operational viability of the project and paving the way for enhanced domestic soda ash production.

As a key raw material used across multiple industries, including glass, detergents, textiles, and chemicals, local soda ash production is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s industrial base, reduce reliance on imports, improve supply chain stability, promote a competitive industrial economy, enhance domestic industrial capacity, and create employment opportunities.

The project is expected to contribute positively to the country’s economic growth and industrial development. The progress reflects SIFC’s continued role in facilitating strategic industrial initiatives and enabling investment-driven economic development in Pakistan.
