ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) condemned attack on Justice Nazeer Ahmed Ghazi (retd) in Lahore and demanded registration of an FIR against the culprits.
PBC Vice-chairman Pir Muhammad Masood Chishti and Chairman Executive Committee of the Council Munir Ahmed Malik strongly condemned the attack on Justice Nazeer Ahmad Ghazi, Advocate, Supreme Court, former judge of the superior judiciary.
The unidentified assailants opened fire on the car of a former judge in Lahore. However, Nazeer remained unhurt, but Maulana Amir Hamza, who was accompanying him, sustained a bullet injury in his arm.
The vice-chairman and chairman of the Executive Committee of the PBC expressed profound shock and outrage over the failure of law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of a senior member of the legal fraternity.
They expressed deep concerns over the tragic incident and demanded from Inspector General of the Punjab Police and the provincial government immediately register an FIR against the culprits and award them exemplary punishment.
