PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has digitized over 100 public services, including property transfer and issuance of land records.

Similarly, with the introduction of e Summary and e Office systems, more than 1500 summaries and over 600 files have so far been processed digitally.

This was told during a meeting on governance and public service delivery in the province via video link with Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi in the chair.

The meeting reviewed progress under the provincial government’s Good Governance Roadmap, with a detailed briefing on key milestones and outcomes achieved across multiple sectors.

It was informed that the Cashless Payment Initiative has been launched in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The provincial cabinet has also approved the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Digital Payment Act 2025, the first legislation of its kind in the country, which will soon be presented before the Provincial Assembly for final approval.

Recruitment of 700 doctors on a contract basis for BHUs and RHCs is currently under way. In addition, the summary for the recruitment of 2400 Medical Officers against vacant posts has been approved and the recruitment process will commence shortly.

Furthermore, outsourcing of 72 health facilities will be completed by August this year. In the tourism sector, the meeting was informed that solid waste collection services have been outsourced under the Galiyat Development Authority, while the preparation of land use and master plans for Kalam, Kaghan, Kumrat and Galiyat has been initiated.

To promote community-based tourism and facilitate visitors in tourist areas, interest free loans worth Rs 150 million have been distributed among local communities for community-based accommodation facilities.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister stated that the government has strengthened the performance and accountability of public institutions under the Good Governance Roadmap.
