KARACHI: The metropolis recorded its highest temperature of the season on Thursday as the mercury climbed to 38.3 degrees Celsius under dry and hazy conditions, with humidity dropping to just 16 percent and warm winds sweeping through the city during the day.
Skies appeared sandy and blurred through the daylight hours, though the evening brought some relief to residents. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast that hot and dry weather will continue to prevail over most parts of Sindh province over the next two days, though temperatures are expected to ease gradually from Thursday’s seasonal peak.
According to the PMD’s Karachi Division forecast, the maximum temperature on Friday will range between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius, moderating further to between 33 and 35 degrees on Saturday. Minimum temperatures will remain in the range of 21 to 23 degrees Celsius on both nights.
Morning humidity will stand at between 65 and 75 percent on Friday before rising slightly to between 70 and 80 percent on Saturday morning. Evening humidity will be considerably lower, ranging from 25 to 35 percent on Friday evening and 35 to 45 percent on Saturday evening.
