Peace and order: Minister acknowledges role of religious scholars

LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Health and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique said that religious scholars play a fundamental role in the establishment of peace and order.

Onthe instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a series of meetings with scholars of different schools of thought are ongoing for the establishment of peace, Salman said in a meeting with the Head of Jamia Urwat-ul-Wasqa Lahore Allama Syed Jawad Naqvi.

“I was very impressed by the teaching system of Jamia Urwat-ul-Wusqa,” Salman said.

“Fateha” was also recited for Shaheed Sayyid Ayatollah Khamenei.

Khawaja Salman Rafique and Allama Jawad Naqvi discussed peace and order and other matters of mutual interest. He said that Boys and girls are being exposed to modern and contemporary sciences in religious madrasas.

Allama Jawad Naqvi said that he appreciates the understanding, insight and political insight of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
