ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday briefed the Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Egypt on the situation along the Pak-Afghan border following Pakistan’s firm response to unprovoked Taliban aggression.

In a telephonic conversation, Ishaq Dar and his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan discussed recent regional developments, including the situation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

Dar informed the Saudi Foreign Minister that the Pakistan Armed Forces had carried out successful and targeted operations under ‘Operation Ghazblil Haq’ to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, according to a Foreign Office statement.

The two sides reaffirmed the importance of peace and stability in the region and agreed to remain closely engaged.

Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar also held a telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and exchanged views on recent regional developments, particularly the situation between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister underscored that Pakistan had responded appropriately to unprovoked Afghan aggression, with the Pakistan Armed Forces carrying out successful air operations under Operation Ghazblil Haq to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Ishaq Dar also briefed Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr Badr Abdelatty about the situation between Pakistan and Afghanistan. He told his Egyptian counterpart on Pakistan’s response to what he described as unprovoked aggression, stating that Pakistan undertook measured and decisive actions. The two sides noted the importance of peace and stability in the region and agreed to remain in touch with each other.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh, Dr Khalilur Rahman, on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Ministerial Session of the Executive Committee of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah.

Ishaq Dar congratulated his counterpart on the historic and smooth transfer of power in Bangladesh and on his assumption of office.

Both leaders held productive discussions on enhancing bilateral cooperation across a broad range of sectors, including trade, culture, technology, and people-to-people exchanges. They reaffirmed their commitment to deepening ties and agreed to work closely together to promote peace, stability, and shared prosperity in the region.
