LAHORE: The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has announced the opening of registrations for information technology companies interested in participating in the Chief Minister IT Internship Programme (CMITIP).
According to PITB on Wednesday, eligible IT companies across the province are invited to join this structured, government-supported initiative designed to bolster Punjab’s digital workforce and promote industry growth. The programme aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry by providing fresh IT and computer science graduates with meaningful, hands-on experience in professional work environments.
Participating companies in the CMITIP will have the chance to onboard talented graduates while receiving significant government support. Each company will receive Rs 12,500 per intern as monthly administrative support, while a monthly stipend of Rs 50,000 per intern will be fully funded by the Punjab government.
Companies will also have the flexibility to select candidates of their choice and train them according to their specific operational and technical needs. This enables them to create a future-ready talent pool aligned with their long-term hiring objectives. To qualify for the programme, companies must be registered with the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), maintain a functional office within the Punjab Province, and provide proper office infrastructure and a professional working environment for interns.
PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf emphasised that through this initiative, the Punjab government aims to empower youth, strengthen links between industry and academia, and contribute to the ongoing growth of Punjab’s IT ecosystem.
