KARACHI: Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori has stated that Pakistani textile products are highly regarded across the globe due to their superior quality.

He expressed confidence that the export incentive packages announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for export-oriented sectors would yield positive results and lead to an increase in Pakistan’s exports.

The governor made these remarks while speaking to the media during his visit to the stall of Lakhani Silk Mills at the Karachi Expo Centre. Chairman Businessmen Group (BMG) Zubair Motiwala and President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Rehan Hanif were also present on the occasion.

Commending the quality of garments produced by Lakhani Silk Mills, Governor Tessori said that collective efforts were underway to promote industrial growth and enhance exports in order to strengthen the country’s foreign exchange reserves. He expressed optimism that Karachi would continue to progress and that local industrialists would make fresh investments, creating employment opportunities for the youth.

The governor said he was encouraged by the large turnout of families, including women and children, at the “My Karachi” exhibition, describing it as a sign of the resilience and courage of the city’s residents following the Gul Plaza tragedy. However, he stressed the need to improve safety measures in narrow streets, markets, and shopping centers.

Referring to the city’s development, Governor Tessori remarked that “My Karachi has now become Your Karachi,” and urged all stakeholders to work together to make it “Our Karachi.”
