Gold, silver prices soar

KARACHI: Gold and silver prices rebounded sharply on Tuesday, surpassing Rs 500,000 per tola, as global bullion rallied overUSD 4,900 per ounce, traders said.

After fresh international rise, local gold prices reached Rs 514,362 per tola and Rs 440,982 per 10 grams, growing by Rs 24,000 and Rs 20,576, respectively, according to All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.

On the world front, gold bullion prices soared by USD 240 to USD 4,916 per ounce while silver resurged by USD 7.41, hitting USD 87 per ounce, it cited.

Domestic silver prices grew by Rs 741 and Rs 636, settling at Rs 9,146 per tola and Rs 7,841 per 10 grams, respectively, the association added.

It is worth noting that the open market may trade gold and silver at prices differing those officially established by the association.
