KARACHI: Gold and silver prices continued their free fall on Saturday, as the world market shed a mammoth value, nose diving close to USD4,900 per ounce, traders said.
One of the biggest drops in local market history by USD25,500 further brought down gold prices to Rs511,862 per tola and Rs21,862 to Rs438,839 per 10 grams, All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association said.
On the world front, gold bullion prices continued to slump, down by USD255, going further down to USD4,895 per ounce while silver saw historic fall of USD21, trading at USD85.31 per ounce, it cited.
Domestic silver prices further plunged by Rs2,063, which is the highest ever decline, to Rs9,006 per tola and Rs1,768 to Rs7,721 per 10 grams, according to the association.
It is worth noting that the open market may trade gold and silver at different prices as compared to those officially established by the association
