KARACHI: A reporter and a cameraman were inured as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) PTI workers attacked an Aaj News DSNG near Mazar-e-Quaid here Sunday.

Earlier, clashes broke out between police and PTI workers after the workers attempted to enter Bagh-e-Jinnah Ground here ahead of a planned rally.

Enraged PTI supporters attacked the vehicle of Aaj News outside the venue, injuring a reporter and a cameraman. Video footage showed protesters pelting stones at a police vehicle near the Numaish Chowrangi area.

However, Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar said he had taken notice of the incident. He directed authorities to identify and arrest those involved in the attack using surveillance systems. He said strict action would be taken against anyone disrupting law and order.

However, PTI Sindh spokesperson Muhammad Ali Baloch said: we condemn the attack on the media. Our workers are peaceful; no one is allowed to take the law into their own hands. Government spokesperson for Sindh Barrister Raja Ansari also condemned the assault on the Aaj News team, calling it an attack on press freedom, and urged immediate action against those responsible.
