LAHORE: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lt Gen Nazir Ahmed (R) on Thursday distributed Rs186.188 million among 136 affectees of the Suzuki Sialkot Motors case.

A special cheque distribution ceremony was held at NAB Lahore where Director General NAB Lahore Mirza Faran Baig was also present. The case involved allegations of cheating the public at large.

According to NAB officials, the recovered amount was obtained through the plea bargain mechanism. At present, 50 percent of the recovered amount has been disbursed to verified claimants, while the remaining amount will be released after completion of procedural formalities. Addressing the ceremony, the NAB chairman said the bureau was committed to the swift recovery and transparent disbursement of funds to victims of financial crimes. He directed concerned officers to expedite recovery and disbursement processes in all cases related to public fraud.

The chairman also sought progress reports on ongoing investigations and stressed the need to identify issues faced by affectees to ensure timely restitution.

DG NAB Lahore Mirza Faran Baig said that during 2025, the NAB Lahore received more than 6,000 complaints, of which 98 percent were resolved. He added that around 21,000 affectees had so far received relief, reflecting NAB Lahore’s recovery and enforcement efforts.

He reiterated NAB Lahore’s zero-tolerance policy against those involved in defrauding the public and said the bureau would continue to focus on transparency, efficiency and public facilitation.
