Security forces eliminate seven terrorists in different KP operations: ISPR

  • Prime minister commends professional capabilities of security forces

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday said that seven terrorists belonging to the “Indian Proxy Fitna Al Khwarij” group were killed in three separate engagements across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on November 18 and 19.

The Pakistan Army’s media wing said the operations, based on confirmed intelligence, targeted the militants in different districts.

On reported presence of Khwarij, an intelligence based operation was conducted by the security forces in Mohmand district, the ISPR said. During the conduct of this operation, army troops effectively engaged the location and after an intense fire exchange, four khwarij were sent to hell, it said.

Another intelligence based operation was conducted in Lakki Marwat district. “In ensuing fire exchange, two Khwarij were effectively neutralised by the security forces,” said the military’s media wing.

In third encounter that took place in Tank district, security forces neutralised another terrorist.

At least 23 terrorists killed in 2 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa operations: ISPR

The ISPR emphasised that sanitisation operations were underway to eliminate any remaining elements of the Indian sponsored terrorist groups found in the areas.

The statement reaffirmed that Pakistan’s relentless counter terrorism campaign under the vision “Azm-e-Istehkam”—as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan (NAP)—will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif praised the officers and personnel of the security forces for successful operations against the “Khawarij” terrorists in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa areas of Mohmand, Lakki Marwat, and Tank.

The prime minister commended the professional capabilities of the security forces for sending seven militants “to hell” during these operations.

“We will continue this war against terrorism until this menace is completely eradicated from the country,” the prime minister said.

“The entire nation, including myself, stands shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Armed Forces in their unwavering commitment to defend our beloved homeland,” he added.

A day ago, the ISPR reported that at least 23 khawarij belonging to Indian Proxy Fitna Al Khawarij were killed in two separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram district.
