Pakistani troops and JF-17 Thunder fighter jets will appear in Azerbaijan’s Victory Day parade scheduled for Saturday.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar announced this in a post on X.

“Long live Pakistan-Azerbaijan friendship. Pakistani troops and JF-17 Thunder fighter jets will be appearing in Azerbaijan’s victory parade today, commemorating the liberation of Karabagh,” he said.

Moreover, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir are also in Azerbaijan to attend the event, which Azerbaijan commemorates its victory in the 44-day-long Karabakh Liberation War against Armenia.

During their visit, the PM and the field marshal met President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The two sides reviewed the entire spectrum of Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations and agreed to expand collaboration in political, trade and investment, energy, connectivity and defence sectors.

President Aliyev thanked Pakistan for its steadfast support during Azerbaijan’s just struggle against the illegal occupation of the Karabakh region and lauded Islamabad’s role in promoting regional stability in South Asia.

According to the Foreign Office, “Pakistan and Azerbaijan enjoy long-standing fraternal relations rooted in shared faith, history, culture, and mutual trust.“

It added that the two countries also maintain close collaboration in regional and international fora, including the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO), and the United Nations.

“The visit by the prime minister will reaffirm Pakistan’s unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two brotherly nations,” it said.

Makes absolutely no sense to me - celebrating other countries national days, sending planes etc.etc. Absolutely waste of people's money + pleasure trips.
