LAHORE: Punjab’s Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bokhari, has announced that after the success of the Metro Bus and Orange Line projects, Punjab is now preparing to launch tram and high-speed train services.
She said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is fulfilling the mandate given to her by the people of Punjab with dedication and distinction.
Azma Bokhari stated that “Maryam Nawaz has redefined the standards of both service and politics, and this is the true reason for her rising popularity.”
She further revealed that Maryam Nawaz has also approved the establishment of Punjab Air Company and, for the first time in the province’s history, introduced an Air Ambulance Service.
The minister added that Maryam Nawaz deserves full credit for introducing innovation in Punjab’s key sectors — transport, education, health, and agriculture.
Azma Bokhari highlighted that development projects are being carried out without discrimination from Attock to Rahim Yar Khan and from Lahore to Sadiqabad.
She said that the Rs100 billion relief packages for flood-affected citizens being distributed on a daily basis, while the “Kissan Card” initiative has emerged as one of the government’s most successful programmes.
Under the second phase of the “Kissan Card”, farmers have already received Rs100 billion, and under the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” programme, 110,000 houses are being constructed — an average of 290 new homes every day.
