Mining sector: BME, Balochistan govt showcase prominence

KARACHI: Bolan Mining Enterprise (BME), a joint venture of Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) and the Government of Balochistan, showcased its prominence in the mining sector by hosting a stall at the 12th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS 2024) at the Karachi Expo Centre.

The stall attracted notable attention, including a visit by MD and CEO PPL Imran Abbasy and COO PPL Sikandar Ali Memon. Welcomed by Head BME/BLZ Zeeshan Asghar and his team, the leadership was briefed on BME's milestones, including its innovative projects and contributions to harnessing Balochistan's mineral wealth for Pakistan’s economic growth.

MD PPL praised BME's efforts, and dedication to transforming natural resources into national assets exemplifies innovation and sustainability.

The BME stall highlighted its expertise in Baryte production, sustainable resource management, and welfare projects, drawing interest from national and international delegates.

BME is also pursuing for augmenting its portfolio in Iron Ore production. This participation reinforced that BME is geared to be a sizeable mining entity in Pakistan in the next few years and its commitment to expanding global partnerships.
