KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 133,000 tonnes of cargo comprising 105,406 tonnes of import cargo and 27,594 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.
The total import cargo of 105,406 comprised of 30,707 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 256 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 1,037 tonnes of Chick Peas, 5,296 tonnes of DAP, 3,293 tonnes of Rapeseed & 60,003 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.
The total export Cargo of 27,594 comprised of 18,816 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 50 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 4,658 tonnes of Cement & 4,070 tonnes of Clinkers. Nearly, 2705 containers comprising of 1775 containers import and 930 containers export were handled on Thursday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 806 of 20’s and 475 of 40’s loaded while 03 of 20’s and 08 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 523 of 20’s and 176 of 40’s loaded containers while 03 of 20’s and 26 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.
Around, 04 ships namely RDO Endeavour, Cosco Shipping Vision, Safeen Pride, Devashree berthed at Karachi Port Trust.
Approximately, 04 ships namely Cosco Shipping Vision, Safeen Pride, Seacon Yantai and MT Mardan Sailed off from Karachi Port Trust.
