ISLAMABAD: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) gave go ahead to 15 development projects at the cost of Rs169.2 billion.
The CDWP approved as many as 11 development projects at the cost of Rs45.09 billion and recommended four projects valued at Rs124.09 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for further consideration. The CDWP met with Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan in the chair at P-Block Secretariat on Saturday. Senior officials from the Planning Commission and federal ministries/divisions also participated in the meeting, while representatives from the provincial governments participated through a video conference.
Fifteen projects related to transport and communication were considered in the meeting. The CDWP recommended four projects worth Rs124.09 billion to the ECNEC for further approvals namely, "Reconstruction of Zubaida Jalal Road from M-8 Iranian Border Radeeq Turbat and Balochistan" with Rs12.02 billion and "Construction of Panjugoor Gichak Awaran Road, District Panjugoor Awaran" at the cost of Rs16.843 billion and "Dualisation of Lila Interchange (M-2) via PD Khan to Jhelum I/C Bypasses length 128km District Jhelum" worth Rs13.65 billion, and "Dualisation of Khuzdar Kuchlak Section of National Highway (N-25) Length 330.52 km" worth Rs81.583 billion.
The CDWP approves 11 projects worth Rs45.09 billion in the forum namely "Construction of Road from Buleda to Proom length 60 km" worth Rs2.996 billion and "Construction of Road from Proom to Jalgai" at cost of Rs3.399 billion and "Construction of Road Proom to Chedgi Road" worth Rs5,171 billion, and “Construction of Road from Naag to Gichak” worth Rs2.364 billion, "Completion of Niheng Bridge at Rodbun, District Kech" worth Rs348. 231 million, and "Widening/Improvement/Rehabilitation of Road from Chowkiwal (N-55) Tehsil Taunsa to N-70 Chapper Balochistan via Zain, Bharti & Kharar Buzdar District DG Khan" worth Rs8.77 billion, and "Construction of Road from Bhawalpur (N-5) to Jhangra Sharqi Interchange District Bhawalpur" worth Rs3.9 billion and "Upgradation of Kalabagh Shakarda Road District Mianwali" worth Rs2,019 million and "Dualization of Karan Dad Quershi to Qasba Gujrat 12 km" worth Rs2.45 billion, and "Construction of Approaches on both sides of Shikh Khalifa Bridge over River Indus along with Guide Banks Rahim Yar Khan" at the cost of Rs7.75 billion and "Dualization of Road from Mandi Bahauddin City to Sarai Alamgir Canal Pull Main GT Road via Village Rasool District Mandi Bahauddin 46km Length" at Rs5.917 billion.
