ISLAMABAD: As the United Nations is set to observe its 75th anniversary, Prime Minister Imran Khan reminded the international community that the dispute over Jammu and Kashmir remains unresolved since over seven decades.

The Prime Minister articulated that "the 75th United Nations Day is also a somber reminder that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute remains unresolved, despite being on the UN’s agenda for over seven decades,” adding that the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir still await the fulfilment of their right to self-determination. Today also marks the independence of Kashmiris from Dogra Rule, a significant chapter in the tumultuous history of the region.

The Prime Minister added that the RSS-BJP hybrid regime, led by an antiquated 'Hindutva' ideology, has continued their inhuman military siege in the region, urging the international community to "exercise its moral, legal, political and diplomatic authority to implement UN Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir".

Prime Minister Khan mentioned that Pakistan joined the United Nations to "save the succeeding generations from the scourge of war", adding that Pakistan was proud to play its part in upholding universal values to protect and safeguard human rights and fundamental freedoms for all.
