Russia's new daily coronavirus case tally near May peak

MOSCOW: Russia reported 11,493 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, just short of the most confirmed in a single day during the pandemic, pushing the overall total to 1,260,112.

Officials said 191 people had died in the last 24 hours, pushing the official death toll to 22,056.

Russia confirmed 11,656 cases, its biggest one-day tally, on May 11.
