Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz would visit Japan from August 8-11 at the invitation of Prime minister Junichiro Koizumi, a foreign office statement said on Monday. This will be the first visit of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz to Japan in his present capacity.
The Prime Minister would hold meeting with his Japanese counterpart to review bilateral matters as well as exchange views on regional and global developments, the statement added.
Several other engagements of the Prime Minister in both public and private sectors are also being finalised. Besides, Tokyo, the Prime Minister would also visit Nagoya, the site of Expo Aichi 2005, where he would attend the Pakistan National Day ceremony on August 11, the statement described.
Pakistan and Japan enjoy close co-operative relations. The friendly ties between the two countries have entered a new phase with the visit of Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi to Pakistan early this year.
