imageKARACHI: Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan has said that Pakistani youth are blessed with utmost abilities and can compete with anyone in any field.

This he said at the unveiling of a formula one SAE car designed by 14 Students of NED University, which has been sponsored by K-Electric, at Governor House here on Tuesday.

This car would participate at an international competition scheduled to be held in July 2016 in Italy. Students of more than 250 universities, from all over the world would participate in the event.

Governor Sindh said that with sheer hard work and untiring devotion nothing is impossible and this is the reason that Pakistani students have performed wonders in all walks of life.

On achieving the distinction of first public sector university to take part in such competition, Governor Sindh said that the students of NED were to be congratulated for achieving this unparallel honour.

Governor Sindh said that their participation in such an international gathering would definitely convey the soft image of Pakistan to the world and it would also help in recognition of abilities of Pakistani students irrespective of success or defeat, in the competition.

He said that co-curricular activities were as important as curricular activities as they help students in enhancing and broadening abilities and their mental approach and thinking which was the reason all universities encourage their students to actively participate in such activities.

These activities also enable the students to prepare themselves for the future challenges with utmost confidence, he noted.

He said that NED has a distinction as a university not only in Pakistan but in the entire world in the field of engineering and technology and its students are recognized each and every where.

Governor Sindh was informed on the occasion that the participating team has got registration no 70, which is linked with the 70th Independence Day to be celebrated on 14th August 2016.

He lauded the cooperation of K-Electric in sponsoring the students and said that it would encourage them to be even more imaginative and creative.

Ebad hoped that other corporate entities would also follow K-Electric's lead and sponsor such initiatives for encouragement of youth in the province.

Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Fakhr Ahmed, shared his pride to be associated with Formula SAE car that would be representing Pakistan at International Circuit.

He said that K-Electric believe in giving back to the society and youth engagement is a key component of our social investment programmes. It is pertinent to mention here that the Formula SAE is one of the biggest global engineering competition which focuses on small Formula style race cars, their design as well manufacturing.

During the competition the participating cars are put to a tough session of technical and manufacturing inspection by the panel of experts.

Later, Governor Sindh formally unveiled the car by starting the same. Vice Chancellor NED Dr. Afzal Haq and Municipal Commissioner KMC Sami uddin SiddiqUi were also present on the occasion.
