Indian fans really worship their idols, to an extend that few have started their business in the name of their favorite movie stars. Five friends (Rahul Kanal, Tabrez Shaikh, Sohail Siddique, Kursheed Khan and Zafar Sayed Yusuf) who claim to be the ‘biggest fan’ of Bollywood heartthrob Salman Khan have opened a restaurant on his name ‘Bhaijaanz’.
‘Bhaijaan’ has been a popular nickname the actor has acquired over the years he has spent in the industry. A Salman-themed 85-seater restaurant has opened in Bandra, Mumbai near Salman Khan’s residence. Serving Indian, Continental, and Chinese cuisine (but no alcoholic beverages), the restaurant opened doors to the public on March 9.
The restaurant also features special comic book menu that has a breakfast section named ‘Anda Apna Apna’, a beverages section called ‘Ek Garam Chai Ki Pyaali Ho’, ‘dabang 1’ which is a mutton dish and ‘dabang 2’ which is a chicken dish section. ‘Jai ho’ is their vegetarian counterpart and BBQ section called ‘Ustaadon Ki Sigdi Se’.
The décor too is based on Salman Khan’s movies, style statements and paintings. Altogether the whole restaurant has been inspired by ‘Dabbang’ Khan.
Rahul Kanal, one of the owners of the restaurant told foreign media that the entire plan for the restaurant was conceptualised and executed in less than a month. “The five of us were interested in starting a restaurant together and we had this space. On February 8, we were talking about the theme and decor of the place when it suddenly hit us that we should pay a tribute to Bhai,” he says.
