While Pakistani audience was trying to get over Pyaray Afzal’s tragic ending, ARY Digital launched their new drama series ‘Chup Raho’ which grabbed the spotlight to become the season’s biggest hit. ‘Chup Raho’ which revolved around the kind of authority that society uses to silence victims, especially women is now coming to an end.
Writer Samira Fazal is no stranger to challenging story lines. She also penned the screenplay for ‘Dastaan’ on Hum Network featuring Sanam Baloch and Fawad Khan. In a recent interview to Dawn, Fazal said, “It’s a very relevant yet taboo subject, something people do not want to talk about. To write about it intelligently is very difficult and challenging. What I am trying to show is that real heroes are not hero material. They are the people who trust you, blindly support you and stand by you”.
Starring Sajjal Ali playing Rameen, she naively falls prey to her villainous brother-in-law Numair played by Jibran Ali who has evil intentions from the very minute she comes to Karachi from Pindi and get married to his cousin brother Azar played by Feroz Khan. Apparently the drama makes it evident Sajjal forced to silence her agony in fear that anything spoken spell disaster for her sister’s home and her family’s honor.
The drama series has earned praises from all corners since it went on-air. However after 28 long episodes, it will come to an end on Tuesday March 10, 2015.
‘Chup Raho’ has been directed by Yasir Nawaz, who has also seen infront of camera as ‘Shiraz’ in the popular drama series.
