imageLAHORE: A delegation of Chinese investors associated with energy sector and Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here Sunday discussed prospects of investment in energy sector.

Shahbaz Sharif said, there was a great scope of investment in energy sector, adding that facilities were being provided on priority basis for investment in energy sector.

While, energy projects were being executed speedily in the province and the programme of generation of energy through coal, hydle, solar and other sources was being forwarded, he maintained.

The chief minister said, there were vast opportunities of generating solar energy, that was why, the Punjab government had completed a 100 megawatt solar project at Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park, Bahawalpur from its own resources, and further generation 900 megawatt electricity from solar had also been planned.

The government, he said, was also setting up power stations for generating 1,000 megawatt electricity through LNG (Liquified Natural Gas). All the development projects were being completed transparently and speedily.

Additional Chief Secretary Energy and other officers of departments concerned were present.
