KARACHI: On Thursday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 4,221.

The traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 13.722 billion and the number of lots traded was 19,825.

Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 6.585 billion, followed by NSDQ 100 PKR 1.728 billion, currencies through COTS PKR 1.154 billion, DJ PKR 953.874 million, crude oil PKR 893.594 million, silver PKR 822.676 million, copper PKR 719.371 million, platinum PKR 373.923 million, SP500 PKR 345.946 million and natural gas PKR 144.841 million.

In agriculture commodities, 3 lots of soybean amounting to PKR 21.345 million, 5 lots of wheat valued at PKR 20.627 million and 4 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 1.974 million were traded.
