Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has taken notice of officers for their inaction on citizen's complaints being lodged on the Pakistan Citizen Portal app.

According to the PM Office, the office observed that complaints of the citizens were disposed off without a proper inquiry, reply and documentary evidence. It also observed that concerned departments took unnecessary time in addressing complaints, while the decision of resolving complaints were taken by unconcerned officials, local media reported.

The office has written a letter to ministries and provincial departments in this regard. The office has directed the ministries and departments to constitute a five members committees to conduct performance evaluation and submit their reports within thirty days.

The committee will be headed by a grade 20 officer or a joint secretary which will submit its report after the evaluation of deployed officers. The committee will point out misconduct in all reports on citizen portal including resolved and pending complaints. The committee will also point out those who were responsible for both good and bad performances.

Last year in October, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government launched the Pakistan Citizen Portal app. This year it was declared the second best government mobile application in the world at the World Government Summit.
