PARIS: European Union soybean imports in the 2019/20 season that started on July 1 had reached 2.4 million tonnes by Sept. 1, official data showed on Monday.
That was 4pc above the volume cleared by Aug. 26 last year, the data showed.
EU soymeal imports had reached 3.5 million tonnes, up 22pc versus the year-earlier period, while palm oil imports stood at 794,000 tonnes, down 24pc.
