CHICAGO: Spot basis bids for corn and soybeans were steady to weak at elevators around the US Midwest early on Thursday, grain dealers said.
Cash bids for soybeans were mixed at processors east of the Mississippi River and flat in the west.
Dealers have reported scattered farmer sales of soybeans in recent days, with some growers taking advantage of strength in the futures market to book sales for supplies they have been holding in storage.
But other growers have been reluctant to sell due to uncertainty about this year's harvest.
Corn bids were unchanged at processors and ethanol producers around the region.
Bids for both commodities were weak at river terminals as high water was slowing barge movement.
