US Cash Grains-Eastern soybean basis steady to firm; Western bids flat

CHICAGO: Spot basis bids for soybeans were steady to firm at processors and elevators in the eastern half of the US Midwest early on Monday, grain dealers said.

Soybean bids were unchanged west of the Mississippi River.

Corn bids were mostly steady at interior processors and elevators and mixed at ethanol plants.

Cash bids for both commodities rose at river elevators.

Dealers reported light farmer sales of soybeans on Monday morning as strength in the futures market has pushed prices to targets growers had previously set to make deals.
