US Cash Grains-Corn basis steady to firm; soy basis mostly flat

CHICAGO: Spot basis bids for corn were steady to firm at interior elevators, processors and river terminals around the US Midwest on Wednesday, grain dealers said.

The corn basis was underpinned by slow country movement.

Farmers have been reluctant to book sales in recent weeks due to concerns about planting delays leading to a smaller-than-expected harvest in the fall, dealers said.

Corn bids were steady at ethanol plants.

The soybean basis was mostly unchanged at elevators, processors and river terminals.
