PARIS: Farm office FranceAgriMer on Wednesday raised its estimate of French soft wheat stocks at the end of the 2018/19 season on June 30 to 2.4 million tonnes (mn t) from 2.3mn t last month.
The higher soft wheat stocks projection reflected an upward revision to the volume of crop put on the market, which outweighed a slight increase to expected exports within the European Union, FranceAgriMer's supply and demand data showed.
The office kept unchanged its forecast of 2018/19 French soft wheat exports outside the EU at 9.75mn t.
For maize, it raised its estimate of 2018/19 ending stocks to 3.0mn t from 2.7mn t as it also revised upwards its estimate of crop supply.
Projected barley ending stocks were lowered to 1.5mn t from 1.6mn t, mainly due to an upward revision to expected exports within the EU.
