HAMBURG: An Ethiopian state purchasing agency has bought about 600,000 tonnes of wheat to be sourced from optional origins in an international tender which closed on April 30, European traders said on Tuesday.
Some 500,000 tonnes was purchased from the company Gemcorp Commodities Trading and 100,000 tonnes from AGROCORP International, they said.
This brings Ethiopia's wheat purchases in May to around 1 million tonnes after it bought 400,000 tonnes in a separate tender on May 13.
