CHICAGO: Chicago Board of Trade corn futures ended lower on Monday, their fourth straight day of declines, under pressure from a sharp drop in the wheat market.
* The most-active contract hit its lowest since Nov. 27 on a continuous basis.
* Corn futures closed just above session lows.
* But short-covering kept declines in check compared to losses in soybeans and wheat.
* Concerns about forecasts for a wet and cold spring that could curtail corn plantings in the US Midwest also provided some support.
* USDA said weekly export inspections of corn totaled 765,618 tonnes in the week ended March 7, below analysts' forecasts that ranged from 800,000 to 1.000 million tonnes.
