CHICAGO: Spot basis offers for soymeal firmed in a few US Midwest rail markets on Wednesday as wintry weather slowed railroad logistics while boosting demand for the high-protein livestock feed ingredient, brokers said.
Nonetheless, basis offers held steady in truck markets and cash soymeal trade was slow, they said.
As of 12:48 p.m. CST (1848 GMT), Chicago Board of Trade May soymeal futures were down $4.20 at $305.80 per short ton.
