South Korea's NOFI tenders to buy 60,000 tonnes of feed wheat

Published Updated

HAMBURG: South Korea's largest feedmaker Nonghyup Feed Inc (NOFI) has issued a new international tender to purchase about 60,000 tonnes of feed wheat to be sourced from optional origins, European traders said on Thursday.

Tender deadline is also Thursday, Feb. 21.

A new announcement had been expected after NOFI made no purchase in its previous wheat tender on Wednesday.

NOFI seeks feed wheat from any origins but excluding Argentina, Pakistan and Denmark in one consignment for arrival in South Korea around July 19, traders said.

Wheat shipment is sought for June 7 to 26 if sourced from the U.S. Pacific Northwest coast, Australia or Canada; between May 18 and June 19 if sourced from the U.S. Gulf or eastern Europe; or between May 13 and June 1 if from South America.

The lowest price offered in the previous feed wheat tender on Wednesday was said to have been $258 a tonne plus a $1.00 a tonne surcharge for additional port unloading.
